第3回内国勧業博覧会 (1890 明治23年7・8月)
明治政府が国内の物産・特産・工業・文化を把握すると共に海外輸出品目の開発産業振興するために勧業博覧会を開催しました。明治23年の第3回博覧会は東京上野で開かれ、パリ万博の翌年ということもあり海外の出品物も同時に展示し華やかで内容の深い博覧会でした。
答志郡(鳥羽市など)では、御木本幸吉、野村兵吉の両人が河田郡長より志摩の豊富な海産物を中国向け輸出品として改良し販路拡張するため横浜、神戸へ出張し各種調査するよう委嘱があり、両人は海産物の研究を続け博覧会への出展に至りました。
御木本幸吉は、天然真珠、アコヤ貝、真珠入り物品などを出展しました。その審査官であった理学博士 箕作佳吉にアコヤ貝による人工真珠の可能性があることを教授され真珠養殖の険しい道を歩き出しました。
兵吉は、この博覧会で伊勢布糊を出展しました。とはいっても布糊を出展したのではなく、工業用に加工したものを出展したのではないでしょうか。布糊と砂をミックスして自然素材のじゅらく壁製品を作る等の凡例を出展し、上の褒状を賜りました。

While the Meiji government grasps domestic product, specialty, industry, and culture, it is development of an overseas export eye.
The industrial exposition was held in order to carry out industrial promotion.
since the 3rd exposition in Meiji 23 is held in Tokyo Ueno and it is called the next year of the Paris expo -- an overseas exhibit -- simultaneous
It exhibited, and it was magnificence and was the deep exposition of the contents.
At Toba city etc., It appoints and entrusts of Kokichi Mikimoto and Hyoukichi Nomura are the Kawada county length.
In order to improve and carry out market extension of the abundant marine products of Shima as an export for China, it conducts [ take an official trip to Yokohama and Kobe, and ] various investigations and needs.
There was request, and both continued research of marine products and resulted in exhibition to an exposition.
Kokichi Mikimoto displayed a natural pearl, a Akoya shellfish, the goods containing a pearl, etc.
It acts as the professor of the possibility of the imitation pearl by the Akoya shellfish being in doctor-of-science Keikichi Minotukuri which was the judge.
He started walking along the steep way of pearl culture.
Hyoukichi Nomura displayed the Ise Funori（Red seaweed ） in this exposition.
But didn't you display Ise Funori（Red seaweed ） and display what was processed into industry?
Ise-Funori and sand were mixed, and I displayed introductory notes, such as making the Coating wall material （Japan Juraku） product of a natural material.
It was commended by The 3rd domestic industrial exposition.
